As always next week will be a very busy week. Please check your child's binder for updates, homework, important dates. The F.R.O.G. Binder is the lifeline between school and home.
In math we are continuing subtraction strategies and we will test over this unit Friday. Don't forget to practice Rocket Math.
In spelling we will spell and build words with inflected endings- ing and ed- after changing the base word. Spelling City is a great website to use for spelling practice.
In language we will continue writing sentences with 5 or more words, a subject other than "I", using correct mechanics. We will also review questions and statements.
In reading we will read nonfiction "A Walk in the Desert" and practice finding the main idea and details. The phonics reader will be read Monday and a phonics activity will accompany it. Leveled readers will be read in class and sent home Thursday for fluency and comprehension practice. Please remember to have your child read their library book and leveled reader for AR practice. When the students have read their library books 2 or more times and someone has asked them important questions about details in the book then they may bring their book back for an AR test. 5 100% (s) = a lunch in the classroom coupon and a free day coupon for their library book.
In science we will focus on habitats/landforms. We will review space in our stations.
Please remember: to review papers in the Friday/Monday folder and send back papers that are in the return pocket. Sign the behavior Log even if nothing is circled or checked(no circles mean no cards).
